Carhartt has launched its new Iconic range, bringing together some of the workwear brand’s longest-standing designs and updating them with modern materials, fits and features.
At the heart of the collection are three Carhartt classics – the Chore Coat, Detroit Jacket and Bib Dungarees – alongside a wider range of sweatshirts, T-shirts and trousers for men and women.
The Chore Coat can trace its origins back to 1917, when the first known advert appeared for a Carhartt coat featuring characteristics still found in the design today.
The latest version uses stretch-enhanced Rugged Flex duck fabric and incorporates Wind Fighter protection for improved wind resistance. Triple-stitched seams are designed to provide additional strength, while a loose fit allows for layering and multiple internal and external pockets provide storage.

Also included is the Detroit Jacket, which dates back more than 70 years. Today’s version features a blanket-lined body and quilted nylon sleeves, together with a corduroy-trimmed collar, full-length front zip, snap-adjustable cuffs and drop-tail hem.
Completing the trio are the Bib Dungarees, a design whose roots stretch back to 1889, when company founder Hamilton Carhartt began producing denim bib overalls for railroad workers.
The latest version has been developed with input from the Carhartt Crew network of real-world testers and combines heavyweight duck construction with reinforced kick panels, double-layered kneepad pockets and stretch side panels.

According to Carhartt, the collection is intended to build on proven workwear designs rather than simply revisit the past, combining its established styles with contemporary stretch fabrics and fits.
The Iconic range also includes sweatshirts, T-shirts and trousers, extending the collection beyond its three heritage pieces and providing options for both men and women.
