Masonry manufacturer Forterra has appointed a technical sales expert to oversee the development of its façade and innovation product range, as the company’s newly-developed SureBrick system comes onto the market.
Mark Brooker, 56, from Sherborne in Dorset, joins Forterra’s Technical Services Team from a background in sales, bringing with him a wealth of experience in cladding and insulation systems.
He has previously held positions at Hilti Group, The Fischer Group and, most recently, Sto Ltd – a UK-wide manufacturer and distributor of external wall insulation systems and acoustic systems.
As Technical Sales and Business Development Manager, Brooker will be involved with promoting products including Wonderwall, Prefabricated Masonry and SureBrick, by generating sales leads and opportunities with façade contractors, installers and architects. His remit will extend to identifying projects that specify brick cladding and physically demonstrating Forterra’s cladding systems to the projects’ decision makers.
Brooker said: “I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck into my role within Forterra’s Technical Services Team, which will allow me to draw on my knowledge of the cladding systems market and sales across the wider construction industry.
“Our SureBrick and Wonderwall systems provide two different choices in terms of performance, accreditation, design and versatility. SureBrick can offer architectural flexibility, which allows architects freedom of choice and design where brick projections, bond patterns and detailing are concerned.”
Stephen Harrison, Chief Executive of Forterra, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark on board, ahead of what looks set to be an exciting year for technical product and systems innovation throughout the company. I have no doubt that his extensive industry experience and specialist knowledge of insulation and cladding systems will prove beneficial to the whole team as we continue to build on our expertise in this area.”
