The Green Roof Organisation (GRO) has announced its sponsorship of the LRWA Sustainability Project of the Year award, as nominations open for projects demonstrating best practice across roofing and waterproofing.
The category forms part of the LRWA Awards 2027, which takes place at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on 17 March 2027 and marks the tenth anniversary of the awards.
GRO is encouraging eligible members to nominate projects for the Sustainability Project of the Year award, which recognises schemes demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability within the roofing and waterproofing sector.
Entries will be assessed across five key areas: reduced environmental impact, beneficial social impacts, product and system innovation, carbon management and reduction, and responsible supply chain practices. Projects demonstrating excellence in one or more of these areas are encouraged to enter.
Project entries are free and open to LRWA members working independently or with GRO members. Eligible projects must have been completed between 28 November 2025 and 27 November 2026, with entries required by 27 November 2026.
GRO is also attending the awards ceremony, with a limited number of places available on its tables for members and colleagues wishing to join the celebrations.
GRO says the event will provide an opportunity to celebrate outstanding work from across the roofing sector while highlighting projects demonstrating how sustainability can be delivered in practice.
