Holcim expands its roofing offering with FDT acquisition

Roofing membrane manufacturer Flachdach Technologie GmbH (FDT) joins Elevate under Holcim’s business envelope division, with Elevate UK & Ireland MD Philip Moors stating: “FDT offers a range of innovative products for flat roofs, which complement the leading EPDM and TPO membranes manufactured by Holcim.”

Holcim has acquired German-based roofing membrane manufacturer, Flachdach Technologie GmbH (FDT).

With a 150-history, Holcim says FDT has forged a leading reputation for developing Rhenofol PVC and Rhepanol polyisobutylene (PIB) roofing membranes for flat roofs, and the acquisition will see FDT join Elevate under Holcim’s building envelope division, expanding its product range for the roofing industry, including UK installers, specifiers and distributors.

The deal follows Holcim’s acquisition of Firestone Building Products in 2021, which now operates under the Elevate brand.

Philip Moors, Managing Director of Elevate UK and Ireland, commented: “FDT offers a range of innovative products for flat roofs, which complement the leading EPDM and TPO membranes manufactured by Holcim. These synergies will provide our customers with a complete choice of solutions offering high-performance waterproofing for applications across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.”

Robert Forster, Managing Director Holcim Solutions and Products EMEA, added: “The acquisition of FDT is in line with our ambition to become a global leader in roofing systems. Due to its leadership in technology and sustainability, as well as its strong customer relationships, FDT will play an important role in the expansion into the most attractive European roofing markets.”
