The IoR’s newly revised Associate Course has been updated and moved to a dedicated online learning platform. The course is designed for those considering a professional career in roofing, particularly with an eye to moving into or occupying a supervisory or management role.

This entirely new and innovative course delivery is designed to offer participants the opportunity to learneffectively, with minimum disruption to their working patterns.

Group sessions (classroom based) will be complemented by directed self-study, using pre‐prepared learningtools; including structured e‐learning, videos, presentations, exercises and quizzes to make students’ studies proceed at a pace which meets their personal preferences and workload.

The course will be delivered over a 5‐week period and is split between 1 day per week in the classroom andweb‐based course content.

There are 10 modules with clearly defined learning objectives.

There is approximately 60 hours of guided self‐learning which will develop the attendees’ wider knowledge of the roofing industry.

There is no formal exam and students will cover 200 learning criteria and submit 60 tangible pieces of learningevidence for assessment.

The cost per delegate is £850+VAT. Payable in advance of the course starting.

The course fee includes individual membership for the first year and also covers the cost of access to thepre‐course online learning (if required).

The first two courses are scheduled to commence in December 2019 and will run through to the end of February.

To support the delivery of the course nationally, the IoR are now looking to recruit a network of trainer /facilitators and find suitable training venues.
