Polyroof, a brand of Roberts Group, has launched a new range of systems designed to provide waterproofing, thermal upgrades and protective refurbishment options for ageing pitched profiled metal roofs.
The new PRX Range comprises two systems – PRX Enhance and PRX Restore – offering different approaches depending on the condition of the existing roof and the performance improvements required.
Both have been developed as alternatives to traditional strip-and-replace methods, with the aim of extending the lifespan of existing metal roofs while reducing disruption and supporting more sustainable refurbishment.
PRX Enhance is a fully specified warm roof system for projects requiring both waterproofing and improved energy performance. It incorporates precision-cut infill insulation manufactured to match the profile of the existing metal roof sheets, helping to improve thermal performance and reduce heat loss.
Once the insulation has been installed, Polyroof’s liquid-applied waterproofing membrane creates a seamless, fully bonded waterproofing layer. The system is aimed particularly at retrofit and building repurposing projects and is available with guarantees of up to 25 years, subject to specification.
PRX Restore, meanwhile, is designed for structurally sound profiled metal sheets that require protection rather than full waterproofing or a thermal upgrade. Formerly Polyroof Roofcoat Elite, the coating is applied by spray or roller to extend the service life of existing sheets.
By retaining the existing roof structure, Polyroof says the system can reduce material waste and operational downtime while providing a more economical refurbishment option.
