Building on more than 20 years of innovation and success with Colorcoat Prisma, Tata Steel has introduced a refreshed collection of its widely specified pre-finished steel.
The company says this latest development showcases an enhanced colour palette, including several distinctive new shades, a more streamlined product offering, and an improved Confidex Guarantee period, reaffirming Colorcoat Prisma as the refined choice for modern building design.
A particular highlight is the Confidex Guarantee duration which has now been extended for roof applications.
First launched in 2005, Colorcoat Prismapre-finished steel has earned a trusted and reliable reputation across the industry. Committed to delivering high-quality, high-performance products and in line with market feedback, Tata Steel says it has refreshed the collection to include some re-imagined shades inspired by the original ‘Elements’, which will carefully be transitioned over a period of time. The refreshed ‘Seren’ range features a new selection of colours, including beautiful bronze tones, each offering a timeless, strong aesthetic. Included in the palette is Seren Oren, Seren Aurum, Seren Champagne, Seren Titanium and Seren Mirage.
With extensive experience of producing the three-layer Colorcoat Prisma product, all new Seren colours are now a nominal 65 microns as standard, facilitating a more streamlined and consolidated product offering. Combined with the advanced three-layer technology and the benefits of strength, performance and reliability, Tata Steel says Colorcoat Prisma is ideal for wall and roof applications. In addition, the Textured offering, launched a few years ago, is said to be an ideal robust roofing product, due to being an overall thicker product at a nominal 70 microns.
The special new Seren colours also mean that the ConfidexGuarantee, the most comprehensive guarantee in Europe from Tata Steel, can now be simplified and in addition, the roof durations for all colours have extended from up to 35 years to up to 40 years.
Alongside the introduction of the new Seren shades, architects and specifiers can benefit from even greater design freedom and flexibility with the relaunched Colorcoat Prisma collection. While the standard clearcoat is supplied across the full Colorcoat Prismametallic and solid colour range, a Sparkle option is also available, subject to a minimum order quantity.
Supporting further aesthetic appeal, the product can also offer brighter and heavily pigmented solid shades through the bespoke colour matching service, also subject to a minimum order quantity – Repertoire.
Speaking about the updated collection, Lindsay Andrews, Colorcoat Marketing Manager at Tata Steel, said: “We are extremely excited to introduce the refresh of Colorcoat Prisma, where strength and performance meet precision, which is demonstrated in the new colour additions and the extended guarantee for roof applications. The new and enhanced colour palette of rich metallic tones, alongside the extensive clearcoat options, is our way of continuing to meet the market demands and emerging trends.
“Additionally, we are looking to include a further option in a limited range of Colorcoat Prisma colours, which can offer an improved Solar Reflective Index (SRI) rating. We recognise that the environmental demands on building projects are increasing and that for hotter climates the challenge of cooling building interiors is more prevalent.
“Four colours – Cream, Hamlet, Oyster and Anthracite – could be supplied with an improved Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) rating compared to the standard versions of the shades, which could provide benefits in use.”
Tata Steel says Colorcoat Prisma delivers the highest level of protection against UV and corrosion as Ruv5 and RC5+ according to EN 10169, demonstrating long term colour and gloss retention, making it the ideal choice for commercial, retail, warehouse and public sector buildings that are truly built to last.
Likewise, the Confidex Guarantee has been curated with simplicity in mind, offered directly to the building owner – avoiding the challenge of navigating complex supply chains in the unlikely event of a coating failure – and includes the use of Photovoltaic (PV) frame modules with no reduction in duration for doing so.
